Forspoken, despite its free PS Plus offering, continues to spark heated debate among players almost a year after its release.

While some PS Plus subscribers are enjoying the game, echoing the sentiments of those who purchased it at full price, others abandoned it after just a few hours. Negative feedback often centers on the game's "ridiculous dialogue" and weak storyline. While aspects like combat, parkour, and exploration have garnered positive feedback, the overall consensus points to the narrative and dialogue as major detractors, making the experience unbearable for many who focus on the story.

The December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium additions, which included Forspoken and Sonic Frontiers, initially received a surprisingly positive reception. However, Forspoken's inherent inconsistencies seem to have prevented a PS Plus revival.

The action RPG follows Frey, a young woman transported from New York City to the breathtaking yet perilous land of Athia. Armed with newfound magical abilities, Frey must navigate Athia's vast landscapes, conquer formidable creatures, and defeat powerful matriarchs known as the Tants in a desperate bid to return home.
