Hot to Get Tier II/Fine Weapons and Armor in Avowed

by Ellie Mar 01,2025

In Avowed, upgrading your weaponry is crucial for survival. Early game encounters feature primarily Common (Level I) weapons and enemies. However, as the difficulty increases to Level II, you'll require Fine (Tier II) gear. This guide explains how to obtain and upgrade to Tier II/Fine weapons and armor.

How to Upgrade Weapons and Armor from Common (I) to Fine (II)

While some Fine Quality weapons and armor can be found or purchased, others require upgrading. Avowed uses a dual-tiered system to track gear effectiveness: Quality (indicated by descriptor, color, and Roman numeral) and enhancement levels (+1 to +3). Common (Green, I) gear can be upgraded to Fine (Blue, II).

To upgrade, locate a Party Camp workbench. Each level (+1 to +3) demands specific materials. After reaching +3, you can upgrade to Fine (II) using Adra, a rare crystal typically obtained through quests, merchant purchases, or by dismantling Unique items.

Upgrading is resource-intensive. Alternatively, Fine (II) weapons and armor can occasionally spawn in Dawnshore early in the game, and are more frequently dropped by Level II enemies, particularly Bounties. However, Common gear is significantly less effective against Level II enemies.

Fine gear is also sold by merchants in Paradis, accessible after defeating the Dreamscourge bear boss in Dawnshore. Two sisters operate adjacent stalls: Merlylin sells magical items (grimoires, wands), while her blacksmith sister offers standard weapons and armor (pictured above).

This concludes your guide to acquiring Fine weapons and armor in Avowed.
