Elden Ring Adds Classes for Switch 2 Tarnished Ed.

Elden Ring is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 with its Tarnished Edition, featuring exciting new bonuses like additional character classes and Torrent customization options.

According to Famitsu's coverage from Tokyo's "FROMSOFTWARE GAMES EVENT Spring 2025" on May 6, the Tarnished Edition will introduce two new playable classes.

RPG Site's translation reveals these as the "Knight of Ides" and "Heavy Armored Knight." While details remain scarce beyond names and visuals, these represent two of four new armor sets—with the others unlockable during gameplay. The expansion will also include fresh weapons and abilities.

Torrent, players' spectral steed, receives three new cosmetic options. While bundled with the Tarnished Edition (which includes Shadow of the Erdtree), this content will also arrive on other platforms via the affordable Tarnished Pack DLC.

The new classes offer fresh starting options—particularly appealing for Switch 2 players beginning anew. These additions may also attract veterans looking for novel ways to revisit FromSoftware's acclaimed RPG.

With global sales surpassing 30 million copies, Elden Ring's arrival on Switch 2 will likely expand its monumental success even further.
