In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the side quest "Bad Blood" provides a deep dive into the lives and relationships of the characters, making it a rewarding experience for those looking to enrich their gameplay. Here's a detailed guide on how to start and complete this quest.

How to Start Bad Blood in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

To initiate the "Bad Blood" quest, you must first progress in the main storyline until you are tasked with finding Mutt. Your journey will lead you to a clearing near Bozhena's hut. Here, Henry will suggest checking with Bozhena about any sightings of Mutt.

Visit Bozhena's hut and inquire about Mutt. She will reveal that her daughter, Pavlena, has gone missing. By agreeing to assist her, the "Bad Blood" quest will be added to your journal.

Gather Information

Your first task is to travel to Troskowitz and speak with Bailiff Thrush, followed by a conversation with Innkeeper Betty at the local tavern. These interactions will shed light on the history between Bozhena, Pavlena, and the village, explaining their ostracism.

Next, head to the designated area to meet the woodcutters. Find Woodcutter Dushko and engage in conversation; he will direct you to Roman's house. Remember to save your game before attempting to lockpick the door to Roman's house.

Once inside, search for Pavlena's basket and then speak with Dushko again for further insights. He will then guide you to a favorite spot of Roman and Pavlena near their house.

Search the Scene

From Roman's house, follow the objective marker downhill to the stream. Turn left at the two large boulders to discover the spot. Follow a trail of blood, which leads to Roman's lifeless body. Continue uphill to speak with Hogherd Hugo, then return to the farm in Troskowitz and converse with Hired Hand Straw.

Successfully passing a dialogue check with Straw will unveil information about Jakesh and the true circumstances surrounding Roman and Pavlena. Additionally, you can discuss with Thrush how to handle Straw. After these interactions, proceed to the rocks south of Zhelejov to advance your investigation.

Confront Ota

Navigate to the objective area and find a path around the large boulder. Ascend the ladder to encounter Ota and Pavlena. To persuade Ota to release Pavlena, you'll need high Charisma and should choose the following dialogue options:

  • “What’s your name?”
  • “Let her go and I’ll let you go.”
  • “I’ll put in a good word for you with His Lordship.”

Once Ota frees Pavlena, she will kill him with a sword. After this, speak with Pavlena and return to Bozhena together. Bozhena will then request that you deal with Jakesh.

Kill Jakesh or Make Peace

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - Jakesh's Decision

For the quest's final step, you have the option to either kill Jakesh or broker peace between him and Bozhena. Locate Jakesh at his child’s grave. Here, you can either take his life or engage in dialogue to seek reconciliation. Alternatively, you can choose to kill Bozhena instead, which will also conclude the quest.

In my playthrough, I chose to kill Jakesh and then reported back to Bozhena to receive a reward.

Should You Kill Jakesh?

Killing Jakesh will negatively impact your reputation in Troskowitz but will significantly boost your standing with Bozhena and Pavlena. Additionally, you'll unlock a new dialogue option with Pavlena and be rewarded with a necklace, a memento from Roman.

If you choose to spare Jakesh and facilitate peace, he will offer you 100 groschen. When reporting back to Bozhena, you can decide to keep the money or share it with her, resulting in both Bozhena and Pavlena being welcomed back into the community.
