Lost Soul Aside: PS5 and PC Release Delayed 3 Months for Polishing

by Peyton May 13,2025

Fans of the eagerly awaited single-player action game, Lost Soul Aside, will have to wait a bit longer as developer Ultizero Games has announced a three-month delay. Initially set for release on May 30, 2025, the game will now launch on August 29, 2025. This decision comes after nearly a decade of development, pushing back the anticipated release from next month to late summer.

Ultizero Games expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support from the global gaming community since the announcement of Lost Soul Aside. "We are truly grateful for the positive response we've received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside," the studio stated. They reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a top-tier gaming experience, explaining, "To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch."

Originally the brainchild of solo developer Yang Bing, Lost Soul Aside has evolved significantly since its inception. Now a major title under Sony's China Hero Project, Bing has transitioned from a solo creator to the founder and CEO of Shanghai-based Ultizero Games. In a recent interview with IGN, Bing reflected on the journey from a solo project to a highly anticipated release featured at Sony's State of Play broadcast. The excitement around the game has been palpable, with many praising its unique blend of Final Fantasy-style characters and Devil May Cry-inspired combat, a buzz that started when Bing's initial reveal video went viral back in 2016.

The protagonist, Kesar, is equipped with a versatile shape-shifting weapon that players can switch between to alter their combat style. Alongside Kesar is Arena, a dragon-like companion capable of summoning supportive abilities. Drawing inspiration from its predecessors, Lost Soul Aside focuses on dynamic combat elements such as aerial dodging, precise timing, intricate combos, and counterattacks, all set against the backdrop of epic boss battles. The game's narrative spans multiple dimensions, weaving a sci-fi story with modern aesthetics. While the trailers offer a glimpse into the game's world, Bing describes Kesar's adventure as a path of "redemption and discovery."
