How Bullseye Works in Marvel Snap

Bullseye is a 3-power, 3-cost card with the ability: “Activate: Discard all cards that cost 1 or less from your hand. Afflict that many different enemy cards with -2 Power.” This makes him a potent addition to discard decks. Cards like Luke Cage directly counter his effect, so be prepared for that.

Bullseye's effectiveness hinges on playing him before turn 6. Activating him discards 0- or 1-cost cards (including those discounted by effects like Swarm). He synergizes well with cards like X-23 and Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), although their combination isn't widely discussed yet. However, as an Activate card, he's useless on the final turn. His 3-cost limits his play window.

Crucially, Bullseye’s ability affects different enemy cards—he won't debuff the same card multiple times. While not capable of overwhelming a single card, he provides a blanket -2 power debuff across your opponent's board, making him effective at disrupting multiple lanes.

Bullseye fits best into existing discard variations, rather than forming the core of a new archetype. A fully Bullseye-focused deck using Swarm and Daken is likely suboptimal. Instead, integrating him into a standard discard deck proves more effective. Consider this deck:

Scorn, X-23, Blade, Morbius, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), Swarm, Colleen Wing, Bullseye, Dracula, Proxima Midnight, MODOK, Apocalypse [Click here to copy this list from Untapped.]

This deck includes the Series 5 cards Scorn, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), and Proxima Midnight. While Scorn and Proxima Midnight are essential, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop) can be substituted with a card like Gambit.

This is a standard discard deck enhanced by Bullseye. With Bullseye on the board, you can play MODOK on turn 5, activate Bullseye, and then unleash debuffs from Scorn, X-23, Blade, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop)'s arrows, and discounted Swarms. Regenerated Swarms and additional cards allow Dracula to acquire Apocalypse, potentially securing victory.

A Hellicarrier and Victoria Hand variation exists, but the above "classic" discard deck offers superior consistency.

Alternatively, Bullseye can be incorporated into Hazmat/Ajax decks, even after their nerfs, though its effectiveness remains to be seen. Here’s an example:

Silver Sable, Nebula, Hydra Bob, Hazmat, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), US Agent, Luke Cage, Bullseye, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, Anti-Venom, Man-Thing, Ajax [Click here to copy this list from Untapped.]

This is a more expensive deck, featuring several Series 5 cards: Silver Sable, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), US Agent, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, Anti-Venom, and Ajax. Hydra Bob can be replaced with another 1-cost card like Rocket Raccoon, but the others are generally considered essential.

This deck aims to utilize Hazmat while securing lanes with US Agent or Man-Thing and Ajax. Bullseye synergizes with several cards, acting as a secondary Hazmat effect with Silver Sable, Nebula, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop)'s arrows, and the 0-cost Anti-Venom. This boosts Ajax, often securing a lane victory. Whether this surpasses Red Guardian-based decks remains to be determined.

Is Bullseye Worth Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector’s Tokens?

For players who dislike discard or affliction decks, Bullseye is likely not worth the investment. His limited synergy outside these archetypes makes him a less attractive option, especially when compared to cards like Moonstone and the upcoming Aries (which synergizes with Surtur).
