Monster Hunter Wilds Patch 1.000.05.00 Resolves Quest Issues, No Performance Boost Yet

Capcom has rolled out Monster Hunter Wilds hotfix 1.000.05.00 across all platforms, bringing crucial improvements and fixes to enhance your gaming experience. This update focuses on removing various progression blockers and addressing numerous bugs, although it does not include performance enhancements as detailed in the patch notes below.

Despite its record-breaking launch, Monster Hunter Wilds currently holds a 'mixed' user review rating on Steam, primarily due to performance issues on PC. However, the game's success is undeniable, having sold an impressive 8 million copies within just three days, making it the fastest-selling Capcom game ever. It also boasts the fifth highest concurrent player count on Steam, peaking at 1,384,608 players, surpassing the likes of Dota 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring. For comparison, Monster Hunter: World reached a peak of 334,684 players.

Looking ahead, a title update for Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for early April, promising to introduce a new endgame area for gathering and additional monster hunting adventures.

Issues addressed as of March 10, 2025:

• The “Grill a Meal” and “Ingredient Center” features can now be unlocked upon meeting the progress criteria.
• Fixed an issue where players would fall through the map when heading to Azuz during Main Mission: Chapter 2-1 “Toward Fervent Fields.”
• The Monster Field Guide is now accessible.
• Resolved an issue in Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 “A World Turned Upside Down” where an NPC may not appear, blocking further progression.
• At the Smithy, fixed an issue where tutorials were repeatedly shown, disabling certain menu options.
• Corrected a problem with the lance's Power Guard where the weapon would flash red without activating the effect under certain conditions.
• Fixed an issue where using a mantle could mistakenly activate a Weapon Equipment Skill.
• Addressed continuous display of certain skill effects, such as Peak Performance and Self-Improvement.
• Resolved an issue where the hunter would freeze and become unresponsive after successfully performing an Offset Attack with the Insect Glaive’s Descending Slash under certain conditions.
• Fixed issues with screen rendering and force quits under certain conditions.
• The Meal Invitation feature at Azuz and Sild now unlocks properly.
• Corrected a notification issue where an Environment Overview Update might falsely indicate a Meal Invitation is available. (Some mitigation measures have been implemented.)
• Fixed an issue with Equipment Loadout causing decorations to be removed from equipment, Bowgun Customization to revert to default, and Kinsects to revert to the initial rarity.

• Addressed an issue allowing some items/rewards to be obtained repeatedly under certain conditions.
• Fixed an issue where nearby fish would not swim away when attempting to catch a fish with a capture net.
• Corrected an issue where environmental features like floating rubbles could be activated multiple times.
• Resolved an issue in Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 “The Root Cause” where the hunter becomes unresponsive to some controls when talking to a certain NPC.
• Fixed an issue where Palico’s support move “Attract Vigorwasps” could cause the hunter to become unresponsive to some controls.
• Corrected a display issue where only the first 20 quests were shown correctly when scrolling through the quest list.
• Fixed an issue causing the game to forcefully shut down when starting with saved data that encountered a force quit.

• A network error occurs when firing an SOS flare right after a quest begins.
• Link Members are not prioritized over other players and may not appear in some places, including Base Camps.

• Hunter Profile cannot be edited properly on some occasions.
• Some side missions cannot be completed under certain situations.
