Moon Knight fans have reason to rejoice as Marvel has confirmed plans for Oscar Isaac's character to return to the MCU, though not in the form of a second season of the Disney+ series. In a recent interview with ComicBook, Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, shared that while a Season 2 of Moon Knight isn't on the cards, the future holds more for this enigmatic hero.
Since the release of Moon Knight in 2022, Marvel Television has shifted its strategy. Previously, the approach was to introduce characters through their own series before integrating them into broader MCU projects, as seen with Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel before her appearance in The Marvels. However, the division is now moving towards a more traditional TV model, focusing on shows that can be released annually.
"So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future," Winderbaum explained. "And moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road."

While Oscar Isaac lent his voice to Moon Knight in the third and final season of the animated Disney+ series Marvel’s What If…?, details on his live-action return remain under wraps.
The MCU's upcoming TV show lineup includes eagerly awaited series such as Daredevil: Born Again, set to premiere in March, Ironheart in June, Eyes of Wakanda in August, Marvel Zombies in October, and Wonder Man in December. However, last week saw Marvel Television reportedly pausing production on three other shows: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc.
Amidst these shifts, Winderbaum revealed that Marvel is exploring the possibility of bringing back the street-level heroes from the Netflix series, including Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, collectively known as The Defenders. This move could signal exciting new developments in the interconnected world of the MCU.
