by Isaac May 18,2025

Hotta Studio's latest project, Neverness to Everness, has reached an exciting development milestone with the launch of closed beta sign-ups for what they call the Containment Test. This PC-exclusive beta is your chance to dive into the game's urban open-world action RPG environment early, featuring a unique mix of chaos, exploration, and powers driven by Esper Abilities.

Set in the vast city of Hethereau, Neverness to Everness introduces a world where the bizarre meets the everyday. From graffiti-tagged skateboards that seem to have a life of their own to otters sporting television heads, the game's trailers hint at a setting steeped in midnight unease and supernatural phenomena. As a player, you'll harness Esper Abilities to tackle these anomalies while juggling the rhythms of daily life and surreal events.

The Containment Test not only offers a preview of the game's innovative systems but also showcases features that distinguish Neverness to Everness from other RPGs in its category. A standout mechanic is urban driving, complete with customizable cars and the thrill of destructible crashes, adding a layer of realism to your adventures. Beyond combat, the game expands into lifestyle elements, allowing you to own and decorate a home, blending seamlessly into the city's fabric.

Neverness to Everness Gameplay

Currently, the Containment Test supports English, Japanese, and Chinese voice-overs, with additional text language options available. While this phase is exclusive to PC players, fans eager to experience Neverness to Everness on PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android will have to wait for the full release.

Entering a competitive field alongside titles like Zenless Zone Zero and Ananta, Neverness to Everness leverages the power of Unreal Engine 5 and draws on Hotta Studio's experience from Tower of Fantasy. This blend of technology and expertise positions the game to potentially stand out in the urban RPG genre.
