After years of speculation, the details about Nintendo's much-anticipated Nintendo Switch upgrade have finally been unveiled, and the results are more impressive than many anticipated. The new system supports up to 120fps and can achieve 4K resolution when docked, setting a new standard for gaming on the go and at home.

PlayDuring today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo provided an in-depth look at the system's features. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch screen compared to its predecessor, while maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm. With double the pixels, it supports a 1080p resolution in handheld mode at up to 120fps. The screen is an LCD with HDR support, enhancing visual quality significantly. When docked, it can handle up to 4K resolution with HDR, promising stunning visuals for docked play.

The new Joy-Con 2 controllers feature a magnetic connection system and can be detached with a release button on the back. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger, improving comfort and control when playing horizontally. Additionally, both the left and right sticks have been enlarged. This segment also introduced the innovative mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers, adding a new dimension to gameplay.

The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology and supports 3D audio for compatible games, enhancing the immersive experience. The device also comes with a larger and sturdier adjustable stand, capable of various height settings. A top USB port allows for external camera connectivity or charging the system in tabletop mode.

Storage capacity has seen a significant upgrade, with the Nintendo Switch 2 offering 256GB of internal storage, ensuring players have ample space for their games and data.
