In early January 2025, LiC shared another intriguing detail about the upcoming console, revealing that they had previously found references to a polyethylene (PE) plastic adhesive tape intended "to stick to game console handles." The shipping documents labeled these tape pieces as "mouse soles," a term typically associated with the bottom part of a computer mouse. This suggests that the Switch 2 might incorporate a mouse-like functionality.

LiC identified two model numbers for these mouse soles: LG7 and SML7. These designations are not found in any public component databases, hinting that they could be part of unreleased products.
