The Realmgate is a pivotal endgame feature in Path of Exile 2. Unlike standard map nodes, accessing it doesn't involve Waystones, but a different method.

This guide explains the Realmgate's location, its proper usage, and what awaits beyond. Understanding this and preparing accordingly is key to maximizing its potential.

How to Locate the Realmgate in PoE 2

The Realmgate is situated adjacent to your mapping phase's starting point. The fastest way to return is by clicking the floating home icon on the map screen (illustrated above). This centers the screen on the mapping phase's origin. The Realmgate is located near the stone Ziggurat.

Occasionally, the home icon might overlap with the red skull icon, marking the Burning Monolith. These locations are generally close. Clicking one reveals the other.

How to Utilize the Realmgate in PoE 2

Unlike regular map nodes, Waystones are ineffective with the Realmgate. Its purpose is to initiate endgame Pinnacle boss encounters. Four Pinnacle bosses currently utilize the Realmgate. Here's how to access them:

  • Xesht, We That Are One (Breach Pinnacle Boss): Combine 300 Breach Splinters to form a Breachstone. Activate the Breachstone at the Realmgate to engage Xesht.
  • Olroth, Origin of the Fall (Expeditions Pinnacle Boss): Use a Level 79 or higher Logbook (obtained from Expeditions) by interacting with Dannig in your Hideout. Dannig is randomly encountered during Expedition maps, alongside other Expedition NPCs (Rog, Gwennen, and Tujen), after which he permanently resides in your Hideout.
  • The Simulacrum (Delirium Pinnacle Event): Combine 300 Simulacrum Splinters to create The Simulacrum, usable at the Realmgate. This generates a map with 15 waves of Delirium enemies, making mapping strategies ideal.
  • King in the Mists (Ritual Pinnacle Boss): Acquire "An Audience With the King" item from the Ritual Favour system using Tribute. Use it at the Realmgate to initiate this encounter.

Note that the Trialmaster and Zarokh, the Temporal, endgame bosses concluding the Trial of Chaos and Trial of Sekhemas (4th Ascendancy version), are not accessed via the Realmgate.

The Arbiter or Ash, the ultimate endgame Pinnacle boss, resides within the Burning Monolith, not the Realmgate. Three Citadel keys, obtained through a quest triggered upon your first Burning Monolith encounter, are required for access.
