The launch of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket brought excitement to many fans, but it quickly faced challenges with its trading system. The initial trading feature was criticized for its cumbersome currency system and restrictive trading rules. However, a recent update aims to address these issues head-on.
The most significant change is the complete removal of Trade Tokens. Players will no longer need to exchange cards to acquire the currency necessary for trading. Instead, the new system will use Shinedust, which players can earn by opening booster packs and receiving cards already registered in their Card Dex. This Shinedust will be essential for trading cards of three-diamond, four-diamond, and one-star rarity.
For those who currently hold Trade Tokens, there's good news: these can be converted into Shinedust. Given that Shinedust is also used to obtain flair, further updates are planned to refine its usage. Additionally, an upcoming feature will allow players to share cards they're interested in trading directly within the game.
As previously mentioned, the initial implementation of trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket seemed half-hearted, with necessary restrictions to prevent abuse in the digital environment. While these changes are a step in the right direction, they are not expected until autumn, leaving players waiting through the spring and summer. This slow pace of updates has left some fans wishing for quicker action from the development team.
