Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Update After Six Years

Rockstar, the mastermind behind the GTA series, has just released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update is exclusively available for mobile users, leaving console and PC gamers waiting in the wings.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

Bully: Anniversary Edition's latest update introduces new languages and focuses on enhancing stability and fixing bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to ensure a smoother gameplay experience.

This update brings several enhancements, including the activation of Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) for Android users with compatible devices. It also features an updated app icon and introduces haptic feedback across both platforms, enriching the sensory experience for players.

Several mission-specific issues have been resolved. For instance, the mission 'That Bitch' where Mandy’s locker was previously impossible to pick, 'Weed Killer' which stalled if you broke the window prematurely, and 'The Rumble' where police cars used to fall through the floor have all been fixed. Additionally, the update addresses gameplay quirks where enemies would inexplicably refuse to attack Jimmy, ensuring more balanced and engaging combat. It also tackles crashes that occurred when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

The fanbase has been clamoring for Bully 2 for years, but Rockstar's focus seems to have shifted elsewhere. Rumors suggest that a sequel was in the works during the 2010s but was ultimately sidelined in favor of developing Red Dead Redemption 2 and expanding GTA Online.

With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects for Bully 2 appear slim, particularly as many of the original team members have moved on from Rockstar. While this new update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it's a significant upgrade for mobile players.

For newcomers, Bully offers a unique take on the schoolyard sandbox genre, where you step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a rebellious 15-year-old navigating the trials and tribulations of Bullworth Academy. The game encapsulates Rockstar’s signature humor and open-world antics.

You can dive into Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, complete with full gamepad support.
