SEGA Stars Join Sonic Rumble in Historic Crossover Event!

Sonic Rumble, despite not having a global launch yet, has kicked off an exciting crossover event called Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event is live from now until May 7th, just before the game's worldwide release on May 8th. Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is accessible in over 40 countries. It had its first pre-launch in Summer 2024, debuting in regions like the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia, followed by a second pre-launch in Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.

What’s in Store?

If you're in a region where Sonic Rumble soft-launched last year, you can now jump into the SEGA Stars crossover event. Fans of Altered Beast will be thrilled to know that the Werewolf transformation is available for free. For those who miss the nostalgic beast modes, the Werebear and Weredragon transformations are also up for grabs, though with different acquisition methods. The Weredragon is part of the Premium Pass, while the Werebear can be purchased with regular rings.

Fantasy Zone enthusiasts will enjoy the addition of Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa to the game. Opa-Opa comes with the Premium Pass, whereas Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments, which are available for purchase with standard rings at 700 rings each.

Super Monkey Ball fans will be delighted to see AiAi and MeeMee join the fray. To get AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. For a sneak peek at the crossover event, check out the video below.

Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover

During the event, you can earn extra rewards by collecting SEGA logos during matches. Although it might seem unusual for the event to occur before the global release, SEGA has confirmed that most of these pre-release rewards will be available again in the future.

This inaugural crossover event showcases a rich tapestry of SEGA's history, bringing together monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and transformed beasts alongside Sonic and his friends. This blend of characters from SEGA's past and present adds to the excitement and promise of Sonic Rumble.

You can download Sonic Rumble from the Google Play Store now or wait for its release on May 8th in your region.
