New Shining Revelry Expansion Coming to Pokemon TCG Pocket This Month

by Chloe Apr 04,2025

My interest in Pokemon TCG Pocket tends to ebb and flow. I dive in deeply when a new set is released and stay engaged as long as there are Emblems to earn after securing around 40 victories. Once that's done, my routine shifts to logging in daily to open packs, participate in a Wonder Pick for fun, and then I usually forget about it until the next day. This cycle will kick off again with the arrival of the latest expansion, Shining Revelry, set to launch on March 27th.

This new expansion will bring 110 fresh cards to TCG Pocket, featuring a variety of new Ex Pokemon, Trainers, and those stunning art cards we've grown to adore. What's most thrilling, hinted at by the expansion's name, is the inclusion of Shiny Pokemon! For those new to the concept, these are unique, differently colored versions of the beloved creatures. For instance, Lucario appears in a striking yellow instead of its usual blue, and Pachirisu boasts an eye-catching pink stripe.

The trailer, which you can view below, teases just a hint of what's to come, so let's explore it further. A new Shiny Charizard Ex is introduced, boasting 180 HP and a powerful attack called Steam Artillery, which inflicts an impressive 150 damage. However, it requires a hefty five energy. Fortunately, its other move, Stoke, enables you to attach three Fire Energy cards at once, making it more manageable.

Another new Ex card is Lucario. Previously seen in a more supportive role in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this iteration of the Aura Pokemon is now better prepared for direct combat. While its 150 HP isn't groundbreaking, its Aura Sphere attack could be very effective, dealing 100 damage for three Fighting Energy and also hitting one of your opponent's Benched Pokemon for 30.

The trailer also showcases other cards that, while not game-changers, are still delightful. Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are on the way and look fantastic. Additionally, there's a visually stunning Tatsugiri art rare that I'm eager to add to my digital collection.

Pokemon TCG Pocket is available for download on the App Store and Google Play, offering a free-to-play experience with in-app purchases. If you're interested, you can easily get it for your preferred platform using the buttons below.
