Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced significant leadership changes, effective April 1, 2025. Hideaki Nishino assumes the role of sole CEO of SIE, succeeding the previous leadership structure. This follows the retirement of Jim Ryan and the subsequent co-leadership arrangement with Hermen Hulst.
A press release also confirmed the promotion of Sony's CFO, Hiroki Totoki, to President and CEO of the entire company, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development, and strategy, steps up to the CFO position.
Under the new structure, Nishino will lead all SIE operations and the platform business group. Hulst retains his position as head of PlayStation Studios. Nishino, a Sony veteran since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group.
In a statement, Nishino expressed his honor at leading SIE, emphasizing the company's commitment to technological innovation and creative experiences. He highlighted plans for PlayStation community growth through IP expansion and technological advancements, thanking Hulst for his continued contributions.
