Spawn Debuts in Mortal Kombat Mobile

by Emery Feb 19,2025

Mortal Kombat Mobile welcomes back the iconic guest character, Spawn!

This latest addition to the Mortal Kombat Mobile roster features Spawn in his Mortal Kombat 11 design, created by Todd McFarlane. He's not alone; the MK1 version of Kenshi will soon join the fray. This update also boasts three brand-new Friendship finishers and a brutal Brutality.

Spawn, aka Al Simmons, is a murdered soldier who strikes a deal with the Devil, returning to Earth as a supernatural anti-hero with the potential to unleash the Apocalypse. Originally created (though first published in the 90s) by Todd McFarlane, Spawn is a cornerstone character of Image Comics and a highly sought-after guest in the Mortal Kombat universe, having previously appeared in Mortal Kombat 11.

A Hellspawn-Sized Update

The arrival of Spawn, alongside a revamped Kenshi, is sure to excite both Spawn and Mortal Kombat fans, despite some players' reservations about the mobile version. Spawn, based on his MK11 appearance, is currently available in Mortal Kombat Mobile. The update includes the new Hellspawn towers, providing challenging battles for players. A Bittersweet Note: Just before publication, reports emerged of the entire Netherrealm Studios mobile team being laid off. Sadly, Spawn's addition might be the final contribution from this talented team.
