Switch 2: Marvel Rivals Dev Open to Potential Future Release

Marvel Rivals, the acclaimed hero shooter, is a hit on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, NetEase, the developer, has confirmed its absence on the original Nintendo Switch due to performance limitations. But what about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2?

Recent discussions with Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas offer promising news for Switch fans. Wu stated that NetEase is actively engaging with Nintendo, acquiring development kits, and exploring a Switch 2 release. The primary reason for skipping the original Switch was the inability to deliver a satisfactory gaming experience. Should the Switch 2's capabilities allow for optimal performance, a port is highly likely.

The Nintendo Switch 2, officially unveiled last month, promises enhanced power and features compared to its predecessor. Rumors suggest a mouse-like controller element, potentially bridging the gap between console and PC shooter controls, though specifics remain unclear.

While the Switch 2's release date is yet to be announced (a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for April 2nd), Marvel Rivals is currently available on other platforms.
