Ubisoft Leaks: Rainbow Six Siege 2 in Development with Enhanced Graphics

According to an insider known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is set to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled at the MGM Music Hall from February 14–16. The insider claims that this sequel, codenamed Siege X, will be powered by an enhanced engine, boasting upgraded graphics with revamped textures and models. Additionally, Ubisoft may forego the return of temporary events from the original game, focusing instead on introducing fresh events. The anticipated release date for Siege 2 is set for the second season of the tenth year of support, which would be mid-2025.

Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, expressed that a full-fledged sequel was unnecessary, as the current game continues to evolve. However, if the leak turns out to be true, it appears Ubisoft might have reconsidered its stance. As always, it's important to approach rumors with caution; without an official statement from Ubisoft, all this remains speculation.

The Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, Six Invitational 2025, is fast approaching. This event will take place in Boston, where twenty teams will battle for a piece of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the championship title. Oxygen Esports, having triumphed in the North American Last Chance Qualifier, is the last team to secure a spot in the tournament.

The format featuring twenty teams is unusual. While Ubisoft is likely to maintain the format used in the previous year—four groups engaging in a round-robin format with five teams each, followed by Double Elimination playoffs—there's a chance we might see a new twist. The top team from each group gets a bye in the first round, the fourth-placed teams start in the lower bracket, the rest enter the playoffs in the upper bracket, and the last-placed team in each group is eliminated.
