Looking back on the year? Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap feature makes it easy. Unlike detailed year-end summaries from other platforms, Snap Recap offers a fun, visual journey through your 2024 Snaps.

What is a Snap Recap?

New for 2024, Snap Recap compiles your year's Snaps into a short video montage. Instead of focusing on statistics, it highlights a single Snap from each month, offering a nostalgic look back at your year. The Recap seamlessly transitions into your Memories, allowing you to further explore past events.

How to View Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your Snap Recap is simple. On the main camera screen, swipe up to open Memories (avoid pressing the shutter button). Your 2024 Snap Recap will be prominently displayed as a highlighted video.

Tap the video (avoiding the share icon) to play your Recap. The video automatically plays through your monthly selections. You can tap the screen to advance if needed. Like any Snap, you can save, edit, share, or add it to your Story.

Why Don't I Have a Snap Recap?

If your Snap Recap isn't appearing, it's likely due to the staggered rollout. Snapchat support indicates that the feature is gradually being released to users. The frequency of your Snap usage also plays a role; users with fewer saved Snaps may not receive a recap. Unfortunately, requesting a recap isn't currently possible.
