Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio is celebrating the upcoming 20th anniversary of the Like A Dragon (LAD) series with a unique fan-driven initiative. Until March 21, 2025, fans can vote to determine which in-game items will be transformed into real-world merchandise.

The 20th Anniversary Celebration Begins

Like A Dragon Kicks Off 20th Anniversary Merchandise Special Voting Project

The LAD series will mark its 20th anniversary in December 2025. RGG Studio has launched a voting project allowing fans to select their favorite items from a pool of 100 options. These range from clothing and accessories (lingerie, pillows) to game-themed items (mahjong tiles, karaoke microphone, Kiryu's dragon mask), even 20th-anniversary sake! The winning item is guaranteed to be produced and released within two years.

Voting runs from February 8, 2025, to March 21, 2025, with one vote permitted per day. Following the voting period, a separate survey will gather input on the winning item's design.

Potential for More Yakuza Remakes?

RGG Studio initially teased the 20th-anniversary plans in a December 8, 2024, Twitter (X) post. Director and Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama expressed gratitude to fans and hinted at various events and announcements leading up to the milestone. The release of Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 20, 2025, kicks off these celebrations. The studio's previous 10th-anniversary celebration, which included the announcement of Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami remakes, fuels speculation about potential remakes for the 20th anniversary.
