Recent leaks suggest a longer-than-anticipated patch cycle for Zenless Zone Zero, potentially extending to Version 1.7 before the launch of Version 2.0. This revelation comes less than a year after the game's successful debut, a year marked by consistent updates introducing new characters, features, and even a collaboration with McDonald's.
The game's popularity continues to grow, fueled by regular content drops. While the recently released Version 1.4 (featuring the powerful Hoshimi Miyabi, though met with some initial controversy regarding censorship swiftly addressed by the developers) has only just landed, anticipation is already building for Version 1.5. This update promises exciting additions: two new playable S-Rank units (Astra Yao and Evelyn), a fresh area, and potentially a new skin for Nicole Demara. Astra Yao's materials have already been teased, prompting players to begin farming in preparation.
According to reliable leaker Flying Flame, the current patch cycle (versions 1.4-1.7) will conclude with Version 1.7, followed by Version 2.0, which will itself run to Version 2.8 before transitioning to Version 3.0. This contrasts with the 1.6 cycle conclusion seen in other HoYoverse titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. This extended cycle, if accurate, would significantly increase the game's content offering. Furthermore, a separate leak from the same source indicates that 31 additional characters are planned for future updates, a substantial addition to the current roster of 26.
Key takeaways from the leaks:
While Version 1.7 remains months away, the imminent Version 1.5 update provides plenty for players to anticipate. The addition of Astra Yao and Evelyn, along with new story content and events, ensures a busy near-future for Zenless Zone Zero players. Version 1.4 is slated to conclude in late January.
