Rare Mount Recolors Added to WoW - With a Twist

World of Warcraft is introducing two exclusive mounts to its Chinese servers: the *Blazing Royal Fire Hawk* and the *Golden Ashes of Al’ar*. These mounts are reimagined versions of two extremely rare in-game drops—originally obtainable only through challenging raid encounters—and now made accessible via special promotions available exclusively in China starting January 15.

The *Blazing Royal Fire Hawk* is a recolored variant of the *Pureblood Fire Hawk*, which previously dropped from Ragnaros in the Firelands raid introduced in *Cataclysm*. While visually similar, this new version features traditional “auspicious clouds” (xiangyun) within its wings—a powerful cultural symbol in Chinese tradition associated with peace, immortality, and good fortune. The *Golden Ashes of Al’ar*, on the other hand, is a golden iteration of the original phoenix mount that once dropped from Kael’thas Sunstrider in *The Eye* raid from *The Burning Crusade*. This updated version includes a sleek black saddle and pays tribute to Kael’thas’s iconic line: “The golden Al'ar, beloved pet of Kael'thas Sunstrider, proves that death is merely a setback.”

How to Obtain These Exclusive Mounts

The *Blazing Royal Fire Hawk* can be earned through an event known as the Treasure Workshop, although specific details about participation requirements have not yet been fully disclosed. Meanwhile, the *Golden Ashes of Al’ar* is obtainable via Landro’s Loot Box, a premium crate priced at ¥200 (~$27 USD). Each loot box contains one of eight high-value items, including other rare collectibles such as the *X-51 Nether Rocket X-TREME* and the *Swift Spectral Tiger*—a highly coveted mount originally from World of Warcraft’s discontinued Trading Card Game. Players can team up and pool resources to unlock bonus crates upon reaching certain spending thresholds.

Availability Outside of China

As of now, there is no official indication that these mounts will become available outside of China. However, given past precedents and evolving regional collaborations, it remains a possibility for the future. For now, players elsewhere can only admire these stunning designs from afar.
