The Legend of Zelda stands as one of the most legendary video game franchises in history. Since its debut on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986, the series has captivated players with its timeless tales of courage, wisdom, and power. Centered around the eternal struggle between Link, Princess Zelda, and the dark force Ganon, the saga unfolds across the mystical land of Hyrule. While the series has enjoyed consistent acclaim, it reached new heights with the Nintendo Switch, becoming one of Nintendo’s top-selling franchises thanks to groundbreaking entries like *Breath of the Wild* and *Tears of the Kingdom*.
With *Echoes of Wisdom* arriving near the end of the original Switch’s lifecycle, it's the perfect moment to reflect on the full lineup of Zelda titles available for the console. Although no new Zelda games have been officially confirmed in development, Nintendo’s announcement of the Switch 2 strongly suggests that more adventures in Hyrule are on the horizon. For now, here’s a complete look at every *Legend of Zelda* game released on the Nintendo Switch.
To date, there have been eight Zelda games released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. This list includes both mainline entries and officially licensed spinoffs launched between 2017 and 2024. Below is a curated collection of all new Zelda titles available on the platform—note that this does not include retro titles accessible through Nintendo Switch Online.
*The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* was the flagship launch title for the Nintendo Switch, released simultaneously with the console. This game redefined the series with its revolutionary open-world design, allowing players to explore any area they can see. Awakening after a century-long slumber, Link embarks on a journey to liberate Princess Zelda from Calamity Ganon, who has taken control of Hyrule Castle. With its dynamic physics, nonlinear progression, and vast landscapes, it set a new benchmark for adventure games.
