Capcom recently held an exciting Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, offering fans a deep dive into the future of the latest installment in the beloved Monster Hunter series. Alongside revealing details about Title Update 1, players also got a sneak peek at upcoming cosmetic DLC, surprise additions, and a glimpse into what’s next for the game.
Title Update 1 is scheduled to launch on April 4, 2025, and will be available as a free update to all owners of *Monster Hunter Wilds*. With the update comes a wave of both free and paid DLC content designed to enhance gameplay and customization. From a new hub area that brings hunters together, to fresh armor sets and terrifying monsters, there’s plenty to look forward to.
The showcase opened with a detailed look at the new endgame hub known as the Grand Hub. This vibrant location offers hunters a variety of social and recreational activities. Whether you're feasting with friends, arm wrestling, or enjoying a night performance by the Diva, there's always something to do. The hub also introduces a fun mini-game called Barrel Bowling, where players can earn vouchers through in-game activities and unlock exclusive rewards.
Access to the Grand Hub becomes available once you reach Hunter Rank 16. Simply speak to Tetsuzan in Suja, located in the Peaks of Accord, to unlock this dynamic new space.
One of the major highlights of Title Update 1 is the inclusion of Mizutsune, the elegant yet deadly waterborne monster. Known for its swift tail strikes and powerful water jets, Mizutsune brings a new level of challenge to the hunt. Players who have reached Hunter Rank 21 or higher can find the quest by speaking to Kanya in the Scarlet Forest. As always, successful hunts will yield materials for crafting new gear and armor sets.
An exciting new Event Quest featuring Arch-tempered Rey Dau will arrive, offering an even more intense version of the already challenging Tempered Monsters. To take on this beast, players must be at least Hunter Rank 50. Those who prevail will be rewarded with unique armor sets and other high-tier loot.
Zoh Shia also returns as a re-fightable monster post-Hunter Rank 50. Previously only encountered during the main story, Zoh Shia now becomes a repeatable challenge, allowing hunters to craft additional gear from its materials.
For those who love speedrunning and leaderboard challenges, Arena Quests offer a competitive twist. These time-based quests include both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests, allowing players to test their skills against others. Participants can earn pendants for achievements and simply taking part in the action. Access these quests directly from the counter in the newly unlocked Grand Hub.
Alma, one of the game's most dedicated companions, is getting a wardrobe upgrade. A new appearance menu in camp allows players to customize Alma’s outfit. One cosmetic set will be available for free upon completing a specific side mission, including an optional change to Alma’s glasses for further personalization.
Alongside Title Update 1, Capcom is rolling out a selection of both free and paid DLC content. Classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter titles will be made available at no cost, while Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 includes exclusive items such as new stickers, outfits for Alma, and other aesthetic enhancements. These premium items are accessible via the store or included for those who purchased the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition.
Players can also expect a lineup of new Event Quests and seasonal-themed events. During these limited-time periods, the Grand Hub undergoes visual transformations, and special meals and decorations become available. Exclusive equipment, gestures, and decorative items can be collected throughout each event window.
The first seasonal event, Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, begins on April 23, bringing pink cherry blossoms and festive decor to the world of *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Capcom has also confirmed that previously released events and Event Quests will return in future updates.
Here’s a breakdown of how Title Update 1 and related content will roll out over the coming months:
Closing out the showcase was a brief tease of the upcoming Title Update 2, slated to arrive this summer. While an exact release date remains under wraps, Capcom offered a tantalizing hint regarding the potential return of Lagiacrus—one of the franchise’s most iconic aquatic monsters. Judging by the teaser, Lagiacrus looks ready to stir up trouble on the surface, promising thrilling new combat mechanics and underwater exploration elements.
Since its launch, *Monster Hunter Wilds* has captured the attention of players worldwide. With Title Update 1 setting the pace, Capcom is clearly laying the foundation for long-term support and expansion. Stay tuned for more updates, guides, and insights as we continue to follow the evolution of this expansive hunting experience.
