For optimal preparation, equip water-element weapons (obtained from Uth Duna in the Scarlet Forest) and fire-resistant gear (also farmable from Uth Duna or later from Ajarakan). Consider crafting a Fire Charm I or Defense Charm I talisman. A hearty meal will boost your health and stamina.

Rompopolo's attacks utilize its gas-filled, saggy skin. Be prepared for explosions and poison. Carry Antidotes; your Palico can also help mitigate status ailments.

Key attacks to watch for:

  • Arm Swipe: A double swipe, easily dodged.
  • Lunge With Arm Swipe: A charging swipe attack.
  • Tail Swing: A straightforward tail attack.
  • Poison Stream or Swipe: A poison gas attack, either sprayed or swiped.
  • Oil Explosion: Rompopolo ignites oil pools, causing explosions.
  • Charged Oil Explosion: A larger, more damaging explosion later in the fight.

Should You Kill or Capture Rompopolo?
