Crazy Ones: A Male-Centric Otome Game Review
Crazy Ones, a newly released otome game, offers a unique blend of turn-based combat and narrative-driven dating mechanics. The game centers on a male protagonist navigating the high-stakes world of big business, pursuing romantic relationships with four distinct female characters.
While the game's marketing emphasizes its novelty as a male-centric otome, I find the term "one-of-a-kind" somewhat overstated. However, its unique premise – a male protagonist in a turn-based otome setting – is certainly intriguing.
The game's narrative draws inspiration from Steve Jobs' famous quote, "Here's to the Crazy Ones," setting the stage for a story filled with romance and corporate intrigue. Players will encounter four diverse female characters: Hakuo, the dependable HR manager; Hyouka Natsume, the tsundere president of a rival company; Chika Ono, an aspiring musician; and Tomoko, the protagonist's protégé.
Combat is integrated through a turn-based card system utilizing the protagonist's memories. While the game focuses on emotional connections rather than explicit fanservice, the concept of simultaneous romances raises some questions.

Despite my reservations about certain aspects of the gameplay, Crazy Ones appears to be a promising visual novel for fans of the genre. It's available now on the iOS App Store and Google Play.
