Elden Ring Nightreign: Raider Class First Impressions - IGN

One of the standout features of Elden Ring is its ability to cater to a wide variety of playstyles, and if you're someone who loves to harness the power of Strength, wielding the biggest weapons to deliver devastating jumping attacks and charged heavy strikes, then you'll find the Raider class in Nightreign to be right up your alley (check out the video below for a closer look).

While the Guardian, another robust class with ample health and a penchant for large weapons, focuses on defense with a shield as its starting weapon and an ultimate ability that shields the entire party from damage for a prolonged period, the Raider is crafted as a relentless offensive juggernaut.

The Raider's ultimate, Totem Stela, is equally impressive. By slamming the ground, the Raider summons a massive totem that erupts, dealing substantial damage to nearby enemies. Like all ultimates in Nightreign, Totem Stela can turn the tide of battle. Not only does it inflict heavy damage, but the totem also serves as a climbable structure, offering a safe haven or a strategic vantage point for you and your teammates. Additionally, it provides a damage buff to everyone, making it a crucial ability to coordinate with your team for maximum impact.

Of all the classes I've explored in Nightreign, the Raider has been the most enjoyable for me. Starting with the Raider's Greataxe, a solid weapon that inflicts fire damage and comes equipped with the "Endure" skill, which allows you to withstand enemy attacks when Retaliate is on cooldown, the Raider is perfectly suited for those who thrive on one-on-one combat. As you progress, seeking out larger strength-scaling weapons will enhance your Raider's effectiveness, aligning perfectly with the class's aggressive playstyle.
