Sony and game developer Santa Monica Studio have unveiled the Dark Odyssey collection, an exciting update for God of War Ragnarök set to launch next week. This update brings a suite of in-game equipment inspired by one of the franchise's most iconic outfits, offering fans a fresh aesthetic experience.
In a detailed PlayStation.Blog post, Sony outlined the contents of the Dark Odyssey collection, which will be available to all God of War Ragnarök players on PlayStation 5 and PC as a free update on March 20. The collection boasts a sleek black-and-gold theme, enhancing the visual appeal of Kratos and his companions as they navigate through the realms of Norse mythology.
Alongside Kratos, both Atreus and Freya will receive their own unique cosmetic sets. The update also extends to a variety of shields and weapons, allowing players to customize their gear extensively. The highlight of the Dark Odyssey collection is undoubtedly the armor set and appearance for Kratos, reminiscent of a skin previously exclusive to those who conquered God of War 2 on God Mode difficulty. Players can access this content by opening any Lost Items chest in the base game or directly in the roguelike Valhalla mode of God of War Ragnarök after the update.
Moreover, the update introduces a much-requested feature: the ability to customize the appearance of Kratos' weapons without impacting their abilities, adding a new layer of personalization to the game.
