by Simon May 26,2025

Helldivers 2 has rolled out a major update with patch 01.003.000, now available on PC and PlayStation 5. This update introduces a host of new features, including new enemies from the Illuminate faction, weapon customization and progression, and significant changes to the Superstore. Developer Arrowhead has been teasing these additions, and now players can dive into the action with fresh challenges and enhanced gameplay mechanics.

The Illuminate faction's invasion brings new adversaries to the battlefield. As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, players will encounter the Stingray, jetfighters that provide aerial support for the Illuminate by targeting Helldivers with devastating strafing runs. Another new enemy is the Crescent Overseer, capable of laying barrages on Helldivers even when they are in cover. Additionally, the Fleshmob, a "failed" Illuminate experiment, is a brute force composed of Voteless parts that players must work hard to take down.

Arrowhead has hinted at sightings of larger ships, suggesting that there might be more for players to explore once they jump into the game.
