Becoming a Hollow in the Hollow Era

Your journey begins as a Soul Spirit, where you face a crucial decision: to evolve into a Shinigami or a Hollow. Opting for the Hollow path requires you to break all the links on your chain, a process that will naturally occur every two minutes, transforming you into a Hollow even if you do nothing.

Warning: Embarking on your Hollow Era journey as a Hollow can be less engaging than playing as a Shinigami. While Hollows have a cool factor, the path to becoming a Vasto Lorde or Espada involves extensive grinding and repetitive tasks.

Hollow Progression in the Hollow Era

Your next goal is to evolve into a Gillian, which requires grinding by defeating other Hollows and consuming their remains. You can transform into a Gillian at level 15, but at level 10, you gain access to the Hueco Mundo dimension through a Garganta gateway, making it easier to find and consume Hollows.

As a Hollow, you'll face attacks from both Shinigami and other Hollows, unlike the Shinigami who are only targeted by Hollows. For a detailed Shinigami progression, check out our full guide.

Gillian Form in the Hollow Era

As a Gillian, your primary task is to continue eliminating Hollows and interact with Hollow Pillars in Hueco Mundo. Accumulate enough Progression Points, and you'll be transported to your inner world to defeat five tougher Hollows. Repeat this three times to evolve into an Adjucha.

Adjucha Form in the Hollow Era

As an Adjucha, you face a pivotal choice: progress towards becoming a Vasto Lorde or an Arrancar.

Arrancar Progression

To become an Arrancar, interact with a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo, which appears every 30 to 60 minutes. Upon contact, you'll transform into an Arrancar, gaining access to Hueco Mundo and the ability to use Kendo skills. At level 50, you can pursue your Resurrección.

Vasto Lorde Progression

To evolve into a Vasto Lorde, continue defeating and consuming Hollows to earn Progression Points. Be cautious, as dying will cost you 1% of your points. You'll need 800 Progression Points to become a Vasto Lorde, with points awarded as follows:

• Hollow: 1 Point
• Gillian: 6 Points
• Adjucha: 4 Points
• Vasto Lorde: 8 Points

Vasto Lorde Form in the Hollow Era

Becoming a Vasto Lorde is more challenging than becoming an Arrancar. You must collect 800 Progression Points and gather all Hollow Items, which have random drop chances. Here's a list of Hollow Items by the creatures that drop them:

Becoming Espada in the Hollow Era

If you choose the Vasto Lorde path, you'll eventually aim to become an Espada. The process is similar to becoming an Arrancar: locate a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo and interact with it.

To find a Crystal Bush easily, go to Hueco Mundo, disable Atmosphere, Bloom, and Depth of Field in your options, and scan the area from a high vantage point.

How to Get Your Resurrección

As an Arrancar or Espada, your ultimate goal is to obtain your Resurrección. Reach level 50, then visit Hueco Mundo and speak to Isen, the King of Hueco Mundo. He'll task you with defeating 50 Arrancars. Once completed, you can activate your Resurrección when your Rage Bar is full and pulsating. Fill your Rage Bar by dealing or receiving damage. The default keybind for Resurrección is "Y", and it deactivates when you run out of Reiatsu or Rage.
