Don't Nod, the French studio behind Life is Strange, has launched the initial chapter of their latest narrative adventure. Players can currently experience Tape 1, with Tape 2 launching as a free update for all owners on April 15th.
Initially unveiled in 2023, the game centers on a close group of friends shattered during the summer of 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the echoes of that summer resurface, unleashing unforeseen and terrifying repercussions.
Inspired by classics like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the game expertly blends nostalgic charm with the suspense of a psychological thriller. The developers have structured the game into two parts – Bloom and Rage. As of February 18th, only the first half of this chilling narrative is accessible.
The second part, dubbed "The Tape," will arrive on April 15th. Initially planned for a March release, the launch was delayed to guarantee a higher quality experience.
The review embargo has now ended, with OpenCritic reporting an average critical score of 74/100 – a promising start for this captivating mystery.
