Boon reassured fans that the development team at NetherRealm Studios is committed to ensuring these two characters offer distinct experiences.

Ed Boon Confirms Homelander and Omni-Man Will Play Differently

During the conversation with IGN, Boon emphasized the creative freedom the team has to explore various facets of these iconic characters. He made it clear that the goal is to avoid any overlap in their combat styles, particularly steering away from duplicating Superman-esque powers. Boon stated, "Obviously, we could do anything with the characters, but I don’t think we’re going to have both Homelander and Omni-Man have heat vision or something like that."

Boon further elaborated on how the team drew inspiration from the heroes' actions in their respective shows to craft unique Fatalities for each character. He assured that the core attacks would distinctly set Homelander and Omni-Man apart, countering any assumptions that they might be carbon copies of each other. "They’re definitely going to play differently. The main attacks are going to really differentiate them, but we’re definitely aware of the assumption that some people were making on, 'Oh, they’re just going to be the same characters.'"
