"Monster Hunter Wilds Surpasses 10 Million Sales, Capcom Reveals Success Secrets"

by Bella May 02,2025

Monster Hunter Wilds continues to shatter records, having now surpassed 10 million units sold, establishing a new benchmark for Capcom. This achievement marks the highest first-month sales in the company's history, outstripping all previous records. Remarkably, Wilds sold 8 million copies within just three days of its release, making it the fastest-selling game Capcom has ever produced.

In a statement to the press, Capcom attributed the success of Monster Hunter Wilds to several key features. The introduction of crossplay, a first for the series, and a simultaneous launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC have significantly broadened the game's appeal. Unlike Monster Hunter World, which saw a delayed PC release, Wilds was available on all platforms from day one.

"The title provides an environment where a wider range of players can enjoy the game together with the introduction of crossplay, a first for the series, and a simultaneous release on PlayStation 5 system, Xbox Series X|S, and PC," Capcom explained.

They also highlighted the innovative Focus Mode mechanic and the seamless transitions between settlements and ecosystems, which enhance the immersive experience. The combination of these new features with the inherent appeal of the Monster Hunter series has driven excitement and contributed to the record-breaking sales.

Looking ahead, Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 is scheduled for release on April 4, introducing a fan-favorite monster and the new Grand Hub, an in-game settlement for player interaction. Title Update 2, set for the summer, will feature the return of Lagiacrus. The Monster Hunter franchise made a significant impact in Western markets with the 2018 release of Monster Hunter World, which remains Capcom's best-selling title with 21.3 million units sold. Given the momentum of Wilds, it's poised to potentially surpass even that impressive figure.
