Monster Train, Similar to Slay the Spire, Now Available on Android

If you're a fan of roguelite deck-building games, then Monster Train's arrival on Android is something you won't want to miss. Originally launched on PC back in 2020 and later expanding to consoles and iOS in 2022, this game has now made its way to Android devices. Often compared to the popular Slay the Spire due to its genre and mechanics, Monster Train offers a unique twist on the formula.

What Does Monster Train Bring to Android?

Set aboard a train descending into the icy depths of hell, your mission in Monster Train is to safeguard the final burning pyre from celestial adversaries. What sets this game apart is its innovative use of three vertical lanes, allowing you to manage battles across multiple fronts simultaneously, a refreshing change from the typical single battlefield found in similar games.

As you progress, you'll have the opportunity to unlock an impressive arsenal of over 250 cards. The game features five distinct monster clans, each with its own unique playstyle. The ability to combine two clans at once offers endless strategic possibilities. Moreover, each clan boasts ten levels of upgrades, making your cards more powerful with every use. Champions, the game's standout units, can also be upgraded multiple times, enhancing their effectiveness in battle.

The Android version of Monster Train is fully updated, including the Wild Mutations and Friends & Foes expansions. Wild Mutations introduces 35 new mutators and new difficulty settings, while Friends & Foes brings new champions, bosses, cards, and artifacts to the mix. Additionally, The Last Divinity DLC adds significant replay value with the introduction of the Wurmkin clan, which you can unlock by beating Covenant level 1. This expansion also features the Pact Shards mechanic and a formidable final boss, The Last Divinity.

Will You Try It Out?

Monster Train on Android is designed for offline play, even in airplane mode, ensuring you can enjoy the game anytime, anywhere. Priced at $10 for the full version, the game includes in-app purchases, primarily for unlocking the complete experience. Once purchased through your Google account, your progress seamlessly transfers across devices, thanks to cloud save support. Just note that there's no controller support available. If you're interested, head over to the Google Play Store to check it out.
