Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Retro Nintendo Console Theme

Pikmin Bloom is set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is rolling out the nostalgia with a bang! The festivities will commence with a special event starting on May 1st, 2025, and it's all about bringing back the magic of classic Nintendo gadgets from the 80s and 90s.

The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!

Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted us with unique decor like Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. Now, for its 3.5th anniversary, the game is introducing Pikmin wearing classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s. Additionally, a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin will be added, paying homage to Nintendo's origins when they were primarily known for their playing cards before venturing into video games. These designs are inspired by Nintendo's vintage playing card decks.

The event will run from May 1st to May 31st, 2025, giving players a full month to engage with the missions and collect these nostalgic Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward you with random items such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will appear, and smashing them will yield Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other goodies. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are particularly effective at taking down these mushrooms.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

In May, the blooming flowers can transform into carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses when planted with red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them.

An exciting nectar update accompanies this event, ensuring that fruits from mushrooms during May will provide nectar not only for regular flowers but also for special blooms like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
