While the worldwide release of Sonic Rumble is still a bit away, set for May 8th, the excitement is already building with a pre-release crossover event that promises to bring a delightful mix of classic Sega characters into the mix. This isn't just any crossover; it's a celebration of Sega's rich history, featuring icons from past and present!
Interestingly, this event kicks off before the global release and will be available to players in regions where Sonic Rumble is currently in soft launch. From now until May 7th, you can snag the Werewolf character, inspired by the iconic game Altered Beast, absolutely free.
For those who subscribe to the Sega Star Event Pass, there's even more to look forward to. You'll gain access to the Weredragon from Altered Beast and the beloved Opa-Opa from the arcade classic Fantasy Zone.
Lucky youBut wait, there's more! Additional characters like Upa-Upa and Werebear will be available for purchase in the in-game Ring Shop. Meanwhile, fans of Super Monkey Ball can get their hands on AiAi and MeeMee through the Red Star Ring Shop.
It's quite unusual to see such an event happening before the official release, but for those fortunate enough to participate in the soft launch, this is a fantastic opportunity to dive into the world of Sonic Rumble with these legendary characters.
Sega has hinted that this is just the beginning, with a packed calendar of crossovers and collaborations planned for Sonic Rumble. So, keep your eyes peeled for more exciting announcements!
On another note, Finnish developer Supercell is gearing up for another rare launch. Be sure to check out our Mo.co preview to learn more about this intriguing, monster-hunting part-time job simulator, soon to be available on iOS and Android!
