Stalker 2: For Science! Side Quest Walkthrough

Embark on a thrilling side quest in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl – "For Science!" This guide details how to initiate and complete this mission, navigating encounters with NPCs and environmental hazards.

Initiating "For Science!"

Locate Yaryk Mongoose within the Central Elevator area of the Chemical Plant. Upon approaching, you'll hear a radio conversation prompting you to meet him. Head left, past conveyor belts, ascend the rusty stairs, and vault the railing to reach Mongoose. He'll explain the need to activate a second measuring device atop a silo, initiating the quest.

Reaching the Silo's Summit

Exit the room and ascend to the building's roof. Eliminate any rodents encountered. Climb out a broken window and use the external ladder and walkways to reach the silos. Equip your bolt-action weapon to counter electro anomalies along the way. Proceed left to activate the second measuring device.

Dealing with the Aftermath

Activating the device will attract Bloodsuckers. Choose to eliminate them or evade them to return to Yaryk Mongoose.

Confronting Mongoose

Upon your return, Mongoose will explain the experiment's unforeseen consequences. You can choose to kill him or accept his reward – a Malachite pass granting access to the STC Malachite facility – and some additional in-game currency. The choice has no significant impact on the game's progression. However, choosing the non-hostile option is recommended to obtain both the pass and currency. The Malachite pass is useful even if you've already gained access to the base via main missions.
