"Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Last Major Update"

Summary

  • Rocksteady releases the final major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
  • Season 4 Episode 8 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's servers will remain online, but no new content will be developed after the January 14 patch.

Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has released Season 4 Episode 8, marking the final major content update for this live-service game. Despite an initial release in February 2024 that garnered largely negative reviews, Rocksteady made the decision less than a year later to cease further development for the game, with the last patch rolling out on January 14. Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can now download this final update.

The unexpected shift to a live-service model was perceived by many as the reason behind the game's quick decline. Just 10 months after its launch, on December 9, 2024, Rocksteady confirmed that Season 4 Episode 8 would be the end of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. They reassured players that all online features would remain accessible, ensuring that fans can continue to enjoy the game with friends.

Following a brief period of server maintenance, Rocksteady has now deployed the final content update, and servers are back online. Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can dive into Season 4 Episode 8: Balance. This patch introduces an Infamy Set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, a range of powerful new Notorious weapons, and a new Mayhem mission that represents the ultimate confrontation with Brainiac. Additionally, there are crucial bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, including reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels.

Even after the release of Season 4 Episode 8, the game's servers will continue to operate. The introduction of offline play with the Season 4 Episode 7 update in December allows players to enjoy the full content, including the main campaign and seasonal story missions, without an internet connection. While no full server shutdown has been announced, the offline mode ensures that players can still experience the game if servers are ever discontinued.

For those who missed out on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League during its brief run, the game is now available on PlayStation Plus until February 3. Subscribers can also enjoy The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered as part of the service.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Patch Notes for Season 4 Episode 8 Update

MEDIEVAL GENIUS

Explore more of the medieval Elseworld in Episode 8: Balance, featuring new twists on familiar sights and fresh locations. Venture to The Quarry, a fortified citadel that you must besiege to defeat the tyrant Brainiac. The Arena offers a perfect setting for jousting tournaments or interdimensional warfare, while the statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van evoke the age of chivalry and honor.

LIBRA INFAMY SET

The Episode 8 Infamy Set draws inspiration from Libra, a notorious DC Super-Villain obsessed with balance. The set's Scales of Libra mechanic increases both damage dealt and received by 50% per stack, promoting a high-risk, high-reward playstyle that encourages dynamic engagement.

NOTORIOUS WEAPONS

Complementing Libra’s Infamy Set, The Silencer’s Complete Silence set offers weapons that deliver a 200% damage bonus to enemies affected by Scales of Libra. The Alt-Fire mode provides a massive 1,000% damage increase and creates a Silencer Zone, reducing enemy damage by 100% within the area, ideal for crowd control.

Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets pierce through enemies, apply Scales of Libra, and have a chance to electrify targets. Positioning is key, as a single shot can devastate multiple foes.

Chronos’ Equilibrium enhances the glass cannon approach, boosting damage by 25% for every 1% of missing Shield, pushing players into the heart of battle for maximum impact.

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

  • Reduced the duration of Deathstroke’s Suicide Strike against specific enemies to align with other characters.
  • Lowered XP requirements for Squad Levels, with retroactive rewards for previously earned XP, resulting in potential Squad Level increases and additional Squad Points for spending post-update.
