Dead Sails Kraken Boss Guide

Your adventure begins in the heart of the town, positioned across from the Gun Store and Hospital, and in front of the Trading Hut. Before setting sail, it's wise to lighten your load of excess loot and equip yourself properly. I recommend purchasing a Rifle for $75; it's an affordable option that provides sufficient firepower to fend off initial threats. Don't forget to stock up on coal to fuel your ship's old-school engine.

The next town is a mere 10,000 meters away. Once your ship is powered up, you're ready to embark. While you can stop to engage Zombies and Drowned for loot, it's generally not worth it due to the scarcity of valuable items in the surrounding houses. To restart your ship, simply add more coal. Keep moving until you reach the second safe zone to sell off your accumulated goods, but remain vigilant of Big Foot and Zombie mobs on either side of the river.

Beyond the second safe zone, you'll encounter burning buildings teeming with enemies. If you're playing solo, it's best to avoid these distractions due to the unpredictable spawn points. At around 12,000 meters, you'll find a castle-like structure filled with Drowned, but also stocked with Shotgun ammo and other valuable loot—use these resources wisely.

Dead Sails Kraken Tips And Tricks

The core gameplay loop remains straightforward: kill, loot, and repeat. To optimize your performance, treat your boat as your primary inventory—offload your bag's contents onto the ship to maximize space and efficiency.

A helpful strategy I discovered while crafting this guide is stacking Zombies near the incinerator. While it's tempting to flee the towns quickly, efficient loot management will benefit you in the long run. Running low on fuel? Simply toss a few Zombies into the incinerator to keep your journey going.

Another tip is to be cautious when exploring Sheriff's offices. These areas often harbor a higher concentration of mobs, but they also offer substantial rewards in the form of weapons and ammo. I managed to sustain my shotgun's ammunition by having a teammate clear the ground floor while we scoured each town.

Conserve your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits for the fortress at around 25,000 meters. This area is still under construction, making it a prime spot for ambushes. I recommend tackling this challenge with at least three other players, ideally a full team of five. Be efficient when collecting loot here.

Avoid engaging Big Feet after 30,000 meters; they're formidable foes that require significant resources to defeat safely. Plan your stops carefully, as loot isn't everything.

The town beyond 50,000 meters is one of my favorite farming spots, boasting at least two dozen Drowned and Zombies. With a few friends equipped with Shotguns or Sawnoffs, this area is an efficient way to gather corpses for fuel. Coordinate with your team to prepare the bodies for loading quickly.

As you approach the final safe zone, sell all your accumulated goods and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't underestimate the Zombies and Drowned—ensure you have a stash of at least 8-10 corpses for fuel during the final leg of your journey. At around 100,000 meters, you'll reach open waters and be ready to confront the Kraken. The impending battle is signaled by darkening skies.

As the Kraken emerges, each player must target a tentacle. The boss has substantial health, and each tentacle can attack if not properly managed. With a team of five, form a pentagram-like formation and focus on your assigned tentacle.

Be cautious of the water splash ability, which causes area-of-effect damage. The Kraken telegraphs this move by winding back and creating a water trail with its tentacle. Use medkits liberally to mitigate the unavoidable damage.

Lastly, watch out for the Roar AoE, which inflicts minor damage and seems to slightly buff the boss's damage output. You'll recognize it by the white concentric circles emanating from the tentacle that used the ability.

As you can see, the challenge is less daunting than it appears. That concludes my Dead Sails Kraken Guide. To expedite your progress even further, consider using one of our Dead Sails codes. Best of luck, and may your sails be ever smooth!
