Poncle emphasizes the need for "good ideas, creativity, and that quirky knowledge of the game," a rare combination that makes the adaptation particularly challenging.

The absence of a plot presents a unique creative hurdle. Poncle ironically noted the "most important thing in Vampire Survivors is the story" upon the adaptation's announcement, highlighting the inherent contradiction. The lack of a pre-existing narrative leaves the film's direction largely undefined, resulting in the absence of a release date.

Vampire Survivors, a fast-paced gothic horror rogue-lite, unexpectedly soared in popularity after its Steam release.
