Warframe Mobile Pre-Registration Opens, Alongside Major Updates for Warframe: 1999
Digital Extremes has announced the Android pre-registration for Warframe mobile, alongside a wave of exciting news for Warframe: 1999. This includes the return of a celebrated voice actor, a new Warframe (Cyte-09), and a wealth of new features.
The mobile release marks a significant expansion for Warframe, introducing a new audience to the popular third-person shooter. The recent devstream revealed several key updates: an upcoming anime short for Warframe: 1999 (produced in collaboration with The Line studio), and further developments in their ongoing ARG featuring the fictional band On-Lyne (even meticulously documented by the developers themselves).
Warframe: 1999 also receives substantial additions, such as the innovative Faceoff PvPvE mode, the welcome return of Neil Newborn (Baldur's Gate 3) to the voice cast, intriguing romantic subplots within the Hex, and more details on the 59th Warframe, Cyte-09.
A Massive Expansion
Warframe's mobile debut, coupled with the imminent arrival of 1999—a significant expansion acting almost as a standalone prequel to the Warframe universe—promises a massive influx of content for both new and veteran players. The sheer volume of new features, complemented by their presence at Tokyo Game Show 2024, sets the stage for a major release.
