"Now You See Me 3 Renamed, Sequel Confirmed"

by Ryan May 05,2025

Big news for fans of the Now You See Me series: the third installment, officially titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, is set to dazzle audiences on November 14, 2025. But that's not all—Now You See Me 4 is also in the works, promising to continue the thrilling saga of magic and heists.

The exciting announcement was made by Adam Fogelson, chair of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, during CinemaCon. He confirmed that the eagerly anticipated third film is right on schedule for its 2025 release.

Director Ruben Fleischer, who has signed on to both develop and direct the fourth installment, brings his expertise to the franchise that has already amassed over $700 million at the global box office. Fleischer, known for his work on Zombieland, Uncharted, and Venom, reunites with Now You See Me stars Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson for the third film. Newcomers to the franchise include Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, who will portray a new generation of illusionists, with Rosamund Pike also joining the cast.

The original films featured a talented ensemble including Eisenberg, Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman. Bobby Cohen, the mastermind behind the series, returns to produce Now You See Me: Now You Don’t alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout. Meredith Wieck will oversee the project for Lionsgate.

Adam Fogelson praised Fleischer's work, saying, “Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us.”

Fleischer himself expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course I want to keep it going.”

Despite the franchise's commercial success, critical reception has been mixed. IGN's review of the first Now You See Me film gave it a 6.3/10, critiquing it for squandering its promising premise on shallow characters and a nonsensical plot. The sequel, Now You See Me 2, received a slightly lower score of 6.2/10, described as "all flash and no substance."

With Now You See Me: Now You Don’t and the upcoming fourth film, fans can look forward to more thrilling magic and heist action from this captivating series.
