*Marvel Rivals* is an exciting competitive hero shooter where teams of six go head-to-head. While the game's matchmaking system functions smoothly, you can also enjoy the thrill of battle alongside your friends. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to add friends and play together in *Marvel Rivals*.
Before diving into the steps, it's crucial to note that *Marvel Rivals* currently does not support cross-progression or cross-play. This means you can only add friends who are playing on the same platform as you. However, the developers have confirmed that these features are on their roadmap, so keep an eye out for future updates.
To start adding friends, launch the game and locate the add friends icon positioned in the top corner next to your player profile. Upon clicking it, you'll be greeted with a list of players you've recently encountered in matches. Simply select a player from this list and add them to your friends list.
If you know the username of the friend you want to add, you can also use the search bar within the friends menu. Type in their username, hit the Enter key, and then send a friend request. Once they accept your request, they'll appear in your friends list, ready to team up.
With your friends list now filled with potential teammates, it's time to squad up and take on other teams in *Marvel Rivals*.
To invite friends to play, click on the friends list icon located in the top right corner of the screen. Scroll through your friends list, select the username of the friend you wish to play with, and send them an invite to join your game. Once they accept, you can queue up for either quick play or competitive matches and dive into the action together.
If you're playing on a console, friends added at the system level will automatically appear in your *Marvel Rivals* friends list, streamlining the process of inviting and playing with them.
That's all you need to know about adding friends and playing together in *Marvel Rivals*. For more tips and detailed information on the game, be sure to check out The Escapist.
