The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, had combat mechanics that fell short of expectations. This has been acknowledged by CD Projekt Red (CDPR).
In a recent interview, Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, highlighted gameplay and monster hunting as areas requiring significant improvement. He emphasized the need for a more impactful and emotionally resonant monster-fighting experience in the upcoming sequel, focusing on improved choreography and heightened intensity.
The Witcher 4 is poised for a major combat overhaul. CDPR's awareness of past shortcomings ensures that these improvements will benefit not only Witcher 4 but also future installments in the planned trilogy starring Ciri.
Interestingly, the developers intend to incorporate Triss's wedding into the game's narrative. This storyline, originally envisioned for Novigrad in Witcher 3, depicts Triss's relationship with Castello and her desire for a swift marriage. Geralt's role would involve assisting with preparations, including monster extermination, procuring alcohol, and selecting a wedding gift.
