In the most recent financial report from Thunderful Group, which has experienced multiple rounds of layoffs, a significant update on the release of the cyberpunk platformer Replaced has been revealed. The game, which has faced numerous delays, is now scheduled to launch in 2026.

Originally, the developers at Sad Cat Studios had announced that Replaced would be released in 2025, citing the game's development as a "unique challenge". However, the journey to this point has been fraught with delays; the game was initially set for a 2022 release, which was subsequently postponed to 2023, and then to the previous year. Despite these setbacks, Sad Cat remains dedicated to delivering a top-quality product, motivated by the high expectations and attention the game has received from the gaming community.

Replaced was first unveiled in 2021 during Microsoft’s showcase at the now-discontinued E3 event. Since then, the developers have kept the community engaged by sharing periodic updates. This summer, for instance, they released combat footage and introduced a mini-game, keeping the anticipation alive among fans.

While Sad Cat has not yet commented on the latest delay to 2026, their commitment to providing regular updates suggests a continued effort to keep their audience informed and engaged throughout the development process.
