The highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will feature a notable pricing difference between Japan and the rest of the world. This new gaming console will come in two distinct versions: a Japanese-language system exclusive to Japan, and a Multi-Language System designed for global markets. The Japanese version will be priced at approximately $330, while the Multi-Language System will cost $449.99, a difference of over $100. This pricing strategy is influenced by the current weakness of the yen against the USD, which impacts tourist purchasing behavior in Japan.
Residents of Japan have the option to purchase either version, but the Japanese-language system will only be available within Japan and can only be linked to Nintendo Accounts set to the Japanese region. This version will support only the Japanese language and will be limited to software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop. For those interested in using the Switch 2 in multiple languages, Nintendo recommends opting for the Multi-Language System version. Further details about this version will be disclosed on April 4.

Acquiring the Nintendo Switch 2 will involve participating in a lottery system through the My Nintendo Store. Additionally, various retailers and online shops across Japan will start accepting reservations or lottery entries from April 24, based on stock availability. To enter the My Nintendo Store lottery, applicants must meet specific criteria:
More information regarding the application process will be available on the My Nintendo Store starting April 4.
