Pokémon Go Tour: Unova Debuts Black and White Kyurem with New Adventure Effects Globally

The legendary Pokémon Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are set to make their debut during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event. These powerful Pokémon come with unique Adventure Effects that enhance your gameplay outside of battle. To maximize your earnings, make sure to utilize the Tour Pass.

Black Kyurem's Freeze Shock ability generates electrically charged ice for 10 minutes, immobilizing wild Pokémon and making them easier to catch. Meanwhile, White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, facilitating the landing of Excellent Throws. Both effects can be extended in 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a total possible duration of 24 hours.

During the event, you can challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to gather Fusion Energy. By fusing Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, you'll unlock Freeze Shock or Ice Burn, respectively, which will replace Glaciate. These moves will revert back to Glaciate once the Pokémon are separated. Note that Kyurem cannot currently learn these moves through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.

You'll have the option to choose between two event badges: Black Version (Reshiram) or White Version (Zekrom). With the Black Version, Kyurem encountered after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate, and you'll receive Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. The White Version provides Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, and Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem will also know Glaciate.

For better progression, leverage the Tour Pass, which unlocks various rewards and enhances your Adventure Effects. Earn Tour Points by catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching Eggs, or expedite your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Each Major Milestone increases your Catch XP and extends the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.

For an even richer experience, consider upgrading to the Tour Pass Deluxe. This premium version offers an immediate encounter with Victini, additional event-themed encounters, an avatar item, and the new Lucky Trinket. The Lucky Trinket is a one-time-use item that allows you to become Lucky Friends with someone on your Friend List, enhancing your next trade.
