HP has exciting news for gamers: preorders are now open for the highly anticipated 2025 Omen Max 16 gaming laptop. This powerhouse is set to redefine gaming performance with its cutting-edge hardware, featuring the upcoming Intel Core Ultra 9 HX-series processor and the GeForce RTX 5080 mobile GPU. Scheduled to begin shipping on March 13, the Omen Max 16 is poised to become HP's new flagship gaming laptop, complementing the existing Omen and Omen Transcend lines.

The launch edition of the HP Omen Max 16 comes with an Intel-based system, starting with the performance-oriented Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU. This chip offers a significant boost in performance over the efficiency-focused Core Ultra 9 185H. The base configuration also includes a 16" QHD+ display with a 240Hz refresh rate, 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD, all for $2,699.99. This price point is approximately $500 less than the similar upcoming Razer Blade 16.
The HP Omen Max 16 is slated to ship out in early to mid-March, which is just around the corner. Given that the RTX 50-series mobile GPUs are yet to be released, we're eagerly awaiting benchmarks to see just how powerful this machine will be.
For those interested in alternatives, Razer's 2025 lineup of gaming laptops is also available for preorder. The Razer Blade 16 and Razer Blade 18 can be ordered directly from Razer.com, featuring the latest Intel and Ryzen processors, and the highly anticipated RTX 5000-series mobile GPUs in three variants: RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090. Preordering comes with the added perk of bonus accessories, depending on the model you choose.
Razer Blade laptops are renowned for their exceptional build quality, crafted from a single piece of aluminum to achieve a sleek and lightweight design. To maintain this thin profile, Razer utilizes a proprietary cooling system that includes a vacuum-sealed, liquid-filled copper vapor chamber for efficient heat dissipation. The engineering behind a Razer Blade laptop is comparable to that of Apple's MacBook Pros, justifying their premium pricing in the market.
